Stewart Maclennan began his studies on the electric guitar at age 14 under the late Ethan Atkinson of Houston,Texas. At the end of four years of study he had gravitated toward the classical guitar and fell in love with solo guitar music. During a hiatus of two years at University of St. Edward's in Austin, Texas, he decided to commit to studying music full time in Edinburgh, Scotland.
In 1998 he enrolled in the Degree Foundation Course at Stevenson College and by 2001 he had earned his ALCM Teaching Diploma and Grade 8 Music Theory of the ABRSM. He was finally accepted into the highly competitive BMus Course at Napier University and graduated with Honours in 2005. Since then he has been teaching privately full time and has many years of practical experience providing music for weddings and private functions. Stewart is also a prolific songwriter, music producer, and arranger.
